The Rise Noosa - Girls Getaway - 40 & Fabulous!

If you’ve ever been tasked with organising a special event for friends or family, you’ll be familiar with the stress and anxiety I felt when organising a friend’s 40th Birthday Girls Getaway recently.  There is so much to consider in the logistics and ultimately, will your plans please everyone?  In the days leading up to the event, there were calls from concerned friends “have you thought about theming?” and “Maybe we could have a yoga instructor come to the apartment?”

It was clear this was not going to be any ordinary weekend getaway…

We’d had some earlier discussion on the ideal destination – would it be Hunter Valley, Blue Mountains, Gold Coast or Sunshine Coast?  We decided on Sunshine Coast given the big 4-0 coincided with the annual foodie extravaganza Noosa International Food & Wine Festival.

Next step was finding accommodation to cater for 5 women wanting pampering, relaxation and a little luxury. Browsing the alluxia Sunshine Coast accommodation options we easily decided on The Rise Noosa, perfectly positioned within walking distance to the Noosa International Food & Wine Festival and Hastings Street and offering luxurious apartment style accommodation and great value.

And then we ate… Initially we had grand plans to arrange a private chef to cater a special dinner in the apartment. This is no easy task to achieve during a food & wine festival, so instead I ordered catering from Belmondo. With a great menu selection, quantity and quality of food, beautifully presented on platters ready to be devoured, it was the perfect choice. The in-apartment catering, made for a far more relaxed evening as we gathered on the balcony of The Rise watching the stunning sunset.

Despite the relaxing environment, we did eventually leave the apartment and had a divine long lunch in the sunshine at Berardo’s Bistro on the Beach and some shopping on Hastings Street. You can while away the hours browsing the boutiques and dining along the famed restaurant strip.

Then the festival…Noosa International Food & Wine Festival is a great day out with friends. Every year it seems to be timed to perfection, with glorious sunny winter days to enjoy tasting wine & sampling delicious gourmet morsels.  Your ticket gains entry to the festival, with music, food & wine demonstrations and more you simply purchase tickets for food & wine, depending on how much you intend to consume... There is a full schedule of additional dinners and masterclasses in and around Noosa during the festival, also worth checking out. Noosa International Food & Wine Festival should definitely be on the bucket list for all foodies.

Relaxation…surprisingly inexpensive and a highlight of our weekend was arranging a yoga instructor with Balance Noosa for a private session in our apartment at The Rise. Despite the early morning start we were left feeling refreshed and revived.

It’s official; a weekend away with your best girlfriends is good for your health, read how here! Taking time to bond with your besties is essential for your wellbeing and our stay at The Rise Noosa was the perfect base for our Sunshine Coast girls' getaway and all the planning & organising was worth it when you’re creating special memories.
