Dorchester on the Beach Review

While it seems like every new high rise being built on the Gold Coast is bigger and shinier than the next, remember bigger isn't always better.

If you long for the nostalgia of yesteryear, for the quintessential Aussie beach holiday, then I think I've found just the place.

Dorchester on the Beach is a boutique apartment property perfectly situated between Surfers Paradise and Broadbeach and boasting an absolute beachfront vantage point that can't be beat.

Managed by Karen and Michael Cross, you'll be hard pressed to find a more friendly, helpful and professional couple on the coast. With loads of experience, you're in great hands to ensure a fab holiday on the Gold Coast.

Each three bedroom apartment is privately owned and therefore uniquely furnished, so the room types are conveniently graded as 3, 4 of 4.5 star based on quality, so you're bound to find the right apartment to fit your style and budget.

We're spending the night in 4.5 star style and arrive to an apartment flooded with afternoon light and panoramic ocean views - it's a truly breathtaking sight!

The spacious lounge room overlooks the beach opening out to a balcony to sit and enjoy sunset drinks and cool ocean breezes. The large kitchen makes self-catering easy for a great night in; I mean why would you want to leave these views? Our apartment appears newly refurbished with quality furnishings, sophisticated fit out and comfortable bedding. All the creature comforts are covered including free WiFi, Foxtel and DVD player.

With only 2 apartments per floor and only 33 apartments in total, the apartments are a quiet haven for holidaymakers, away from the party heart of Surfers and ideal for those wishing to relax and enjoy the stunning location and slumber to the sounds of the ocean.

There is a ground floor heated pool and BBQ area, perfect for families to splash about. With direct beach access, you're straight on the beach for morning walks, evening strolls and beach shenanigans.

Dorchester on the Beach also has a neighbourly arrangement with the local Northcliffe Surf Club offering a discount off the breakfast price for guests. I strolled down for an early morning coffee and can confirm it's a sensational spot and the breakfast menu looks the goods too.

Dorchester on the Beach is ideal for Gold Coast family holidays or group getaways. In fact, I'm planning my next escape, a girls' getaway here would be just perfect!

So if you're seeking a Gold Coast getaway with spacious apartments, unrivalled absolute beachfront location and friendly, welcoming service this hidden gem just might be for you too.
