Noosa Food & Wine Festival - Meet the Makers

There is a lot to love about the upcoming Noosa Food & Wine Festival.  As one of Australia’s most popular holiday towns, Noosa boasts an appealing mix of sunshine, surf, golden beaches, along with a raft of great restaurants and cafes. So it’s not wonder the festival manages to attract some of the biggest names on the food and wine scene each year.

This year, we see festival veterans including Matt Moran, Matt Preston, Mark Best, Frank Camorra, Philip Johnson and more returning to entertain the crowds with their culinary skills.

The wine & beer kiosks will also be looking to showcase their range to the punters and we’re looking to make a beeline to Babich Wines, Ross Hill, Meerea Park, Juniper Estate, Woodstock and The Lane Vineyard to name but a few.

One of the most exciting elements is the opportunity to discover new wines and the chance to meet the maker.

One of the premium brands on show this weekend will be Juniper Estate from the Margaret River and winemaker Mark Messenger will be on hand to guide you through a range of wines.

After nearly a decade making wine the world over, Mark Messenger returned to Margaret River where he has produced award-winning cabernet for the past 18 years. Juniper was established by the late Roger Hill and his wife Gillian Anderson with the intention of producing wines which rank among the best to come from Wilyabrup (the sub-region of Margaret River) and beyond.

Known for their red wines, Juniper reds are true to style of the region, with minimal influence from the winery and are further testament to Wilyabrup’s proven ability to produce wines of the highest quality.

We’ve visited this charming winery and it’s definitely worth a visit when you’re next visiting the Margaret River. It’s a cosy cellar door with beautiful grassed area to relax beside the Wilyabrup Creek.
