Review Elements of Byron Adults Only Pool

If you ever needed a reason to get away to Elements of Byron, this is it. The new Adults Only Pool delivers coastal cool style and a chilled vibe for a weekend of relaxation and indulgence.

We recently returned to Elements of Byron for a girls' getaway, keen to check-out the changes as Elements has expanded significantly since our last stay. We first revealed the dramatic expansion plans here which included adding 99 villas to the sprawling resort, heating the main lagoon style pool, adding an adults-only pool, seasonal beach bar plus some family oriented additions including a children's playground. So what's the vibe like now with all these changes? In a word, fabulous!

Everything you love about Elements of Byron remains, the epic lagoon pool with hanging lounges, poolside fire pit and beachside yoga but now with more luxe two bedroom villas and an epic adults only pool, you have a world-class resort in the laid-back town of Byron Bay that can't be beat.

We checked in and headed straight to the beach and the Botanica Beach Club for sunset drinks. The beachfront bar serves drinks from the cutest coastal caravan, the cocktail list is a sunny collection of concoctions and we chose a twist on the Aperol Spritz with passionfruit and lemon myrtle. The result was delicious cocktails the size of my head, yesss!

The new one and two bedroom villas are nestled among the Eucalypt forest and are a 5-minute stroll from the beach. We were generously upgraded to a new Superior Two Bedroom Villa for our girls' getaway weekend. The new villas blend seamlessly with the originals and are decked out in the same luxurious style you've come to expect at Elements including spacious living and sleeping areas, sophisticated styling and all the modern conveniences.

Our two-bedroom two-bathroom villa is divided by a spacious central living room and kitchen. The living room looks out to a large fully enclosed deck with gas heater and 2-seater lounge. The beauty of the two-bedroom villas is they are great for sharing with family or friends and offer a full kitchen including cooktop, microwave, coffee machine and fully stocked with all you need to cook up a storm, or just prepare a grazing cheese platter as we did. Both rooms have king beds (can be split to twin) and one bathroom boasts a free-standing bath with local Byron Bath Organics Luxury Bath Tea a unique blend of dead sea, Epsom and pink Himalayan bath salts for some serious soaking.

But the standout of the new look resort is the exclusive Adults-Only Pool. It completely exceeded my expectations; more than just a pool sans kids, it's an adults playground with swim up bar, luxurious lounge deck, cabanas, tequila and taco style food van, you can even swing at the bar! The vibe is relaxed and cool with great tunes and the staff appear to be enjoying themselves as much as the guests.

The result is a haven for adults amongst a family friendly resort. We spent the day at the AO pool, lounging about in the cabana, drinking cocktails and eating tacos before chasing the sun to the main pool to catch the final rays of the day.

We dragged ourselves away from the resort only briefly to enjoy breakfast at nearby Barrio Byron Bay, lunch at The Farm, dinner & drinks at Roadhouse and catch a gig (The Preatures regional tour) at Byron Bay Brewery. Really, you won't want to leave.

While you might be on holidays and craving a sleep-in, resist the temptation and rise early to catch the beachside yoga. It's always a highlight of a stay at Elements, although the number of guests turning up now exceeds the size of the small yoga deck since the expansion, so arrive early to secure a prime spot.

It's no secret we're lovers of Elements of Byron; after all this was our fourth stay at the resort since it's opening two years ago and it just keeps getting better and better! The new two bedroom villas make the resort perfect for girls' getaways or family holidays with plenty of areas for both camps to holiday harmoniously, enjoying all that Elements of Byron has to offer.
