Good Food & Wine Show

After touring Melbourne, Sydney and Perth, the wait is over and Brisbane is set to become the centre of the food & wine universe over a dynamic three-day weekend (17-19 October), as Good Food & Wine Show rolls into town this month.

This year’s Show will feature regional producers from every corner of Queensland so you can discover local labels you won’t find in the supermarket. Meet and greet some of the finest food artisans, from Gympie to Northern NSW and sample what could be your new pantry must-haves.

Here’s what to expect this year:

The Courier Mail Theatre presented by Ilve – Watch and learn from the best local and interstate chefs and TV personalities in Australia, Alastair McLeod, Matt Golinski, Matt Moran, Miguel Maestre, Maggie Beer and Matt Stone. Sessions are free, but remember to book your seat in advance so you don’t miss out!

Riedel Wine Theatre –
Always wanted to learn more about Semillons from the Hunter Valley, the beauty of bubbles or big reds from the Barossa? Then enjoy our free pallet appreciation class on the hour.

Cheese Alley by Tuckers Natural
– Buffalo mozzarella, cheddar, camembert, goat’s cheese or creamy brie, discover your cheese crush and meet Australia’s finest makers. We’ll definitely be seeking out Bruny Island Cheese Co, one of our favourites since visiting this artisan cheese maker in Tasmania.

Nip of Courage Grazing Garden
– famed food trucks from around Brisbane (including The Bun Mobile, That BBQ Joint and Siguenos) have been mustered into green and grassy pastures so you can eat, chat and relax with mates whilst sipping premium cocktails and wines.

Add flavour to your foodie experience (Masterclasses from $20)

Lifestyle FOOD Chef’s Table – Be the envy of others, as you prepare to sample the three-course spoils prepared by each chef after the Courier Mail Theatre sessions championed with a reserved range of Robert Oatley wines. Includes a Lifestyle FOOD goodie bag valued over $100.

Riedel Glass Tasting – Discover how varietal specific glasses affect your wine palate whilst tasting Robert Oatley’s reserve range of Finisterre Pinot Noir, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon. There is even a glass designed for Coca-Cola tasting! All participants receive four Riedel glasses valued at $235.

Miguel’s Spanish Fiesta
– Surround yourself in a Spanish fiesta out on the terrace, with sangria, music and a paella cooking class with the King of Spanish cuisine, Miguel Maestre.
