Luxperience 2017

Last week we attended Luxperience; an industry only event for bespoke luxury and high-end experiential travel. If you follow our Instagram feed, you'd think it was all Champagne, Canapés and fun in the harbour city and you'd be partly right, but there was a serious side to the event namely making meaningful connections.

We commenced with a Thought Leaders Forum and welcome function at Hilton Sydney. Tim "Rosso" Ross was back as MC, introducing the fabulous Lauren Bath, Australia's first professional instagramer and online tourism queen to share some important Insta tips.

The next 3 days were a blur of "speed dating" a series of 15 minute appointments with sellers from around the world. Here are our highlights, tips and news in luxury travel and what's hot in Australia right now!

Mayfair Hotel
The stunning Mayfair Hotel Adelaide has revealed a brand new look for their Hennessy rooft-top bar. The popular Adelaide hot spot has opened a new glass-topped alfresco terrace complete with vertical garden and decadent underfloor heating. It's our pick for admiring the city skyline while sipping superior cocktails in style.

The Anchorage
Our favourite Port Stephens retreat The Anchorage has undergone a $15m refurbishment including a major overhaul of their food & beverage offering. Check out the Hemingway's Bar with its sumptuous leather armchairs and elegant fireplace while you enjoy a premium whisky tasting. The Wild Herring Restaurant specialises in seafood and there are plenty of private dining options too. Accommodation rooms have been refreshed and there is an adults only pool coming soon...

Penfolds
No trip to South Australia is complete without a trip to Penfolds cellar door in Adelaide or the Barossa to visit the home of Grange. At their Barossa Cellar Door you can 'Make Your Own Blend' and become a master winemaker for the day. Enter the winemakers' laboratory, don a white coat and get to work blending your own wine from Grenache, Shiraz and Mataro – just like Penfolds own Bin 138. The results are then bottled for you to enjoy! This brilliant Barossa experience is just $65.00 per person and we'll be including it in our upcoming Barossa Weekend Getaway!
