THE LOOK

Blue Horizon’s cliff hugging location provides the perfect vantage point overlooking the Coral Sea.  The décor has a Balinese inspired resort feel with comfortable, contemporary furnishings.  Unlike many Airlie Beach apartments, Blue Horizon’s permits one night stays, making it a great luxe for less mini-break.

THE SCENE

You’re just a stroll to the absolutely brilliant Rum Bar and Fish D’Vine.  We can highly recommend this establishment and with over 200 rums available, “Dr Rum” can whip you a cocktail to cure what ailes you. Within Airlie Village you’ll find plenty of shops and cafes plus tour desks to arrange a Whitsunday cruise

THE ROOM

There’s a range of room types available at Blue Horizon and we stayed in a one bedroom spa apartment. With a queen bedroom at the rear of the apartment, the location makes for a quiet nights sleep.  The Bathroom features Morrissey amenities, a shower over spa bath, with window through to lounge area and views beyond. The flimsy venetian blind wouldn’t do much for modesty if you had guests in the lounge room, but fine for couples or solo travellers. The kitchenette offers basic cooking facilities such as microwave, kettle, toaster and mini-bar size fridge. Laundry facilities and plenty of storage were tucked away behind sliding doors. The lounge/dining room is spacious and opens out to expansive deck with outdoor setting. Beware of cheeky cockatoos that will love to join you for breakfast.

THE SERVICE

Friendly service from Guest Service Manager, Sahil who was welcoming and friendly throughout our stay, providing plenty of local tips and information and accommodating all our weird and wonderful requests! Reception hours are 8am-5pm (Mon-Fri) and 9am-3pm (Weekends and Public Holidays) Rooms are unserviced, with additional charges if you require housekeeping and a fee applies for WiFi.
