If you’re a regular traveller or simply like food & wine adventures, you perhaps already have the Gourmet Travellers pocket sized bible of Australia’s best restaurants tucked into your carry-on. This week, Gourmet Traveller announced their Top 100 Restaurants and awarded stars and The Weekend Australian released its Hot 50 Restaurant Awards.

Some alluxia favourites were amongst the awarded restaurants:

Lake House, Daylesford VIC

With rabbit and charcuterie, confits and roasts, there’s no doubt the Lake House’s carte ticks all the country-comfort boxes. But this veteran is by no means stuck in a culinary rut. The wine list is also rock-solid, a drawcard second only to the service. Worth a weekend of indulgence. Lake House scored number 33 in the Gourmet Traveller top 100 and Hottest Classic in the Weekend Australian Hot 50.

The Long Apron, Sunshine Coast QLD

The Long Apron at Spicers Clovelly Estate has once again been awarded one star and is now ranked number 79 in the top 100 restaurants in Australia by Gourmet Traveller. Head chef Cameron Matthews is said to be thrilled with the result and is excited to be recognised as one of the country’s best regional restaurants.  Only 90 minutes from Brisbane, a visit to the Long Apron at Spicers Clovelly Estate is well worth the trip!
