June long weekend – Mornington Peninsula

Food, wine & winter go together oh so well and what better way to indulge than at Melbourne’s Mornington Peninsula Winter Wine Weekend.

Winter Wine Weekend is on this Queens Birthday long weekend (8-10 June 2013). The fun kicks off with Winter Wine Fest, an exhibition and tasting more than 200 premium wines from around 50 wineries, undercover at the Showgrounds. Tickets can be purchased online for $55 or at the door for $60 and includes Riedel tasting glass, wine tasting, a tasting book and two entrée sized dishes with more winter warming fine food prepared by chefs from leading Peninsula restaurants. There’s even a special deal for designated drivers – how thoughtful!

Mornington Peninsula Vignerons also welcome visitors to Cellar Doors to taste new release wines and experience seasonal offerings of the region. We recently enjoyed tastings at Paringa Estate, Port Philip Estate, Stonier and Yabby Lake Vineyard and can highly recommend their warm, welcoming hospitality.

The Queens Birthday Weekend offers an opportunity to immerse yourself in wine, wander with the winemakers, visit vineyards and taste new vintages. Three days of pure indulgence…

When visiting the Mornington Peninsula, we recommend Flinders Hotel, with stylish contemporary hotel rooms and on-site chef hat awarded Terminus restaurant – trust us and order the Turkish Delight Souffle, you won’t be disappointed!
