New Look for Larmont Sydney

We recently toured the new look Larmont Sydney and were blown away with the recent renovations!

Larmont Sydney is tucked away behind the iconic Coca-Cola sign in the bohemian borough of Potts Point, surrounded by fab restaurants, cafes and bars and a hop, skip and jump from the CBD. Personally, the Potts Point/Darlinghurst area is my preferred location to stay in Sydney to give you that 'living like a local' vibe with the convenience and access to the city.

Larmont is managed by family-owned Lancemore Group who operate luxury boutique hotels across Australian including alluxia favourites Alamanda Palm Cove and Lindenderry at Red Hill. The $8m refurbishment of Larmont Sydney by Lancemore Group was led by CEO Julian Clark in collaboration with internationally acclaimed HASSELL Studio.

We can verify, the design elements are certainly impressive, making even the most compact room feel light and spacious. Key design features include semi open bathrooms with free-standing vanity combined with open wardrobes to allow access to harbour and city views and a more open plan feel, but still providing privacy where it counts.

The new design aims to unclutter the traditional hotel room through intuitive use of space and concealment of amenities such as ironing board (concealed in wardrobe drawer) minibar, Nespresso machine and Iron (vanity). I particularly liked the stylish felt hanging magazine organiser which gives the room a Scandinavian design feel.

In addition to the impressive refurbishment of existing rooms, Lancemore have invested a further $12m in acquiring the residential penthouse apartments on the 11th and 12th floors, thereby adding 28 rooms to the property, bringing it to a total of 103 guest rooms.

Pet lovers will rejoice that Larmont have maintained its Sydney pet-friendly status by retaining four courtyard rooms for its four-legged friends. The pet-friendly Courtyard Rooms offer all the creature comforts of home including a welcome treat, food, water bowls and a bed.

Wellness is also at the hotel's core with onsite yoga studio inviting guests to enjoy complimentary yoga or pilates classes in addition to complimentary 24-hour access to Anytime Fitness.

This month, Larmont launched their new restaurant The Hyde, with Head Chef Christian Colognesi (ex-Bambini Trust Restaurant) at the helm. Open breakfast, lunch and dinner 7 days a week, The Hyde will surely make its mark on the already impressive food scene in Potts Point. In-house guests will also enjoy complimentary wine, beer or house spirit with lunch or dinner at The Hyde, just one of many bespoke guest amenities on offer at Larmont Sydney.

We may have just discovered our new Sydney bolthole.
