Taste Tweed 2020 Food Festival Highlights

 

Ready to emerge from your hibernation? The Tweed’s signature foodie festival Taste Tweed kicks off next month with an inventive program featuring online and offline events to suit our post-COVID lifestyle.

In its 8th year, Taste Tweed invites guests near and far to participate in the festival either from the comfort of their lounge rooms via zoom events or those ready to explore The Tweed with in region events with limited numbers and adhering to COVID-19 health and safety restrictions.

Experience a taste of the Tweed with ten days of food, festivities and fun showcasing the best the region has to offer. Taste Tweed hits the coast 3-12 July with dinners, tastings and meet the maker experiences in venues across the region from venues from the coast to the hinterland.

The Story of Coffee | Saturday 4 July
It’s easy to find a great cup of coffee in The Tweed with a plethora of fantastic cafes serving local beans. Two such local roasters are Chris Morrissey of Rivendell Roasters and Gary Wall of Bastion Lane Espresso Uki. Join this FREE online event here.

Pipit Signature Lunch | Sunday 5 July
Experience Australia’s #1 regional restaurant with a Signature Dining event hosted by Pipit Restaurant in Pottsville. Taste Tweed Farm Tour in a Box | Tuesday 7 July
A highlight of the festival has to be this inventive Farm Tour in a Box by Mount Warning Tours featuring a box loaded with tasty, local Tweed produce delivered to your door accompanied by 45 minute of vision showcasing the makers and growers featured in the box. Dine Out Taverna Kingscliff | Wednesday 8 July
Closed during COVID-19, if you’ve been missing the Greek goodness of Taverna, book in to this exclusive winter banquet for just $49 per person. Located on the beachfront on Marine Parade Kingscliff, Taverna is a Greek-inspired modern restaurant worth travelling for.

Wine and Cheese Tasting Burringbar | Thursday 9 July
Join the Tweed Valley Whey Farmhouse Cheeses family for a wine and cheese extravaganza, tasting canapés made from local hand crafted cheeses paired with a selection of fine wines by Brown Brothers. Cost is just $20pp and with just two event sessions, bookings are essential.
