Kym O'Gorman, Marketing & social media guru and self-confessed geek, wife and mother of two finds herself in Byron Bay. 

Byron Bay has been a fairly regular feature in my life for the last 25 years, and the idea of a Byron Bay escape is always warmly received.  It has provided the backdrop for so many life events – group holidays with treasured girlfriends; the babymoon before the birth of my daughter; my wedding on Watego’s beach and a two-day holiday with myself for my 40^th birthday (an inspired present from my girlfriends).

We recently made our annual pilgrimage to the Sunshine Coast for the Noosa International Food & Wine Festival (NIFW) to share a weekend of sunshine & happiness with friends.  The crew of 6 made our way up the coast separately from Brisbane, the smart ones took the day off work and came up early, the unlucky ones left Brisbane late Friday afternoon and endured 3 hours of traffic. But it was worth it, to relax and enjoy a weekend of good food, wine and friendship.

I love travelling with music. I like to think I have a playlist for every occasion, but sometimes you visit an establishment that has just the right music to suit your mood. That’s exactly what I discovered at L’Atelier, a charming new apartment in Daylesford with a great music selection including a nu-jazz compilation that suited the French styling to a tee.
