Presenting some of the most significant royal portraits, Tudors to Windsors: British Royal Portraits explores five royal dynasties: the Tudors, the Stuarts, the Georgians, the Victorians and the Windsors; shedding light on key figures and important historical moments. Among the many works on view are portraits of King Henry VIII, Queen Elizabeth I, King George III, Queen Victoria, Queen Elizabeth II, Princess Diana and Prince William and Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge.

'This exhibition presents an opportunity for an Australian audience to experience works by some of the most significant British artists such as Anthony van Dyck, Joshua Reynolds, Peter Lely, Annie Liebovitz, and Cecil Beaton; as well as provide context to the history of Australian British settlement," said Karen
Quinlan, Director of Bendigo Art Gallery.
